The New Market House

June of 2013 marks a new chapter in the story of this historic Annapolis gem! The renewed Market House has been carefully planned to bring both residents and visitors alike a diverse and complementary variety of foods offerings that will bring this special building into the 21st Century, by featuring the tastes and lifestyles of today while standing for quality and representing a special connection to Annapolis and the Chesapeake Bay region.

According to Annapolis Mayor Josh Cohen, “The Market House is a defining feature of our town and a focal point for our community. This marks a key turning point for our historic market, not just for this summer or the next year, but for the long term.”

Aside from the compelling new and exciting group of vendors the new Market House will offer 24 seats offering guests one of the best waterfront views in all of Annapolis.

Market House History

The Annapolis Market House has been serving the needs of the local community and visitors alike for literally hundreds of years. Although the Market House has been situated in different parts of Annapolis over these many years, there has been a Market House at or near its current location at the heart of City Dock since 1788.
